this is really fucked up tbh, because all these discoursers are reblogging it as if it’s saying “who cares that trans people are dying!”
but as A Trans, this is very clearly saying “people are using trans deaths as a gotcha, but only mentioning these problems when it’s convenient for their arguments, which is not actually supportive of trans people”
and the reason it says “the Trans” is that they’re putting words in the mouth of their (admittedly straw man) discourser here. they’re implying that discoursers are transphobic.
Like I would bet $10 that this was written by A Trans, but you can’t tell because the OP’s identity is conveniently erased by the screenshot
The sad part is, the reality is even uglier than the strawman in the screenshot. They don’t say “But the trans!” they say “But we’re dying!” and conveniently ignore the fact that it is overwhelmingly TWOC who face this risk (Followed, I believe but have not verified for this post, by other QPOC, then in very distant third white trans women, then everyone else.)
They won’t even let trans women and POC be recognized when using them as a derailing tactic.
